2.4 – Grounding into the Earth (suggested & recorded practices)
Have you ever been ready to wholeheartedly accept someone, shower them with love, care for them, nourish them, EVERYTHING… but they weren’t available to receive it? They were too proud, too scared, too something ? …And it felt like the love had nowhere to go?
Maybe you’ve been that person?
It’s like that with the Earth too. She’s always ready.
…And she gets it if you’re not. She doesn’t judge.
Your work this week is to experiment with being willing to receive her healing energy.
If you do nothing else, do that.
If you can do more, become willing to receive her healing energy coupled with the exercises below.
If you can’t open to receive from her just yet, don’t worry. It’s normal for fear to be in the way.
All the practices below work to prepare your energy system and open your energetic pathways to become more and more willing to receive. There’s benefit in doing them even if you don’t “feel anything”. If it feels safer to you, you can approach this work from a more conceptual place with the Alternative practices below.
Rooting into the Earth Practices
Walking barefoot on the Earth (maybe not in winter… you can imagine it instead)
Touching a tree and imagining its roots (or imagining it)
Gardening and getting your hands in the dirt (or imagining it)
Going cave exploring (or imagining it)
Taking a mud bath (or imagining it)
Imagining yourself with deep roots
Imagining yourself with a grounding cord
Imagining yourself as a root vegetable (personal favorite)
You can do all of these as meditations, and deliberately practice this vibration or do this on the go as you go through your day.

1st Chakra Meditation (10 min)
Self-Reiki Guidance (21 min) – Do especially the first part to connect with the healing energy of the Earth.
Alternative Practices to Build a Relationship with the Earth
(for if you’re ready conceptually but not yet all the way in your body)
Make a mood board that matches how the Earth’s vibration feels to you. Place it somewhere you’ll see it regularly (screensaver, on an altar, on your fridge…)
Journal about your relationship with the qualities of safety, compassion, nourishment, unconditionality,
Write a letter to Mama Earth about what’s ailing you. Write a letter back to yourself from her broad, compassionate perspective.
Write a letter to your own human mother, thanking her for all the ways she mothered you, forgiving her for all the ways in which she felt short, and informing her that you and mama Earth will be taking it from here, and whatever she can provide (from her or the otherside) is a bonus you’ll gladly receive. (Only do this if you’re really ready for it).
Make an altar to her energy & perhaps also to your ancestors.
Slowly and compassionately start changing how you consume (guilt trips help nobody).
Imagining yourself surrounded by loving, well ancestors for whom you’re a dream come true, cheering you on
Regularly thank the Earth for growing the food you eat daily
Spend time tuning into the vibration of animals (especially wild ones).
Listening to drums.
